Profane Prophets

As I’ve written before there are many common themes which are interwoven throughout the seemingly disparate emergent/emerging, seeker sensitive, purpose driven, and word faith movements.

In my article entitled “Deathwish” I wrote:

Like many other believers I’ve noticed the most common theme among the Emergent/Emerging, Seeker Sensitive, and Purpose Driven church growth apostates is their man-centered gospel. They continually look within themselves for the answers to life’s problems and circumstances as opposed to looking outward and upward toward God and seeking Him in His Word. Of course they’ll drizzle a little Jesus on top of their man-centered spiritual buffet – take what you want and leave the rest! – and they’ll flavor it with a dash of “church speak”, but in the end it’s the same old hell spawned anti-theology that the devil has been dusting off and trotting out in various forms in order to deceive sinful men for ages.

More recently however I’ve begun to notice the correlation between the aforementioned groups and the occult. Their self-esteem building workshops, their “hero within” fetishes, and their positive confessions can all be traced back to the most ancient origins of witchcraft and occultism.

I’m guessing that some of you who have just seen me compare the emergent/emerging, seeker sensitive and purpose driven cabal to occultists are grumbling a bit or perhaps shaking your head in disagreement, but don’t be too hasty. The fact of the matter is that God Almighty views rebellion against His Word in the same way He views witchcraft and idolatry. It’s my hope that by the end of this post you will see that at the rotten root of the aforementioned groups, as well as their spiritually compromising compatriots in the word-faith community, is a man-centered non-gospel of deception. They have replaced a high and lofty view of God’s revealed Word with a watered down, corrupted man-centered perversion of their own demonic design.  The scriptures and the Gospel are God-centered, not man-centered and to miss this critical truth is to invert the whole of Christianity.  God’s divine revelation to man is to God’s glory alone and serves to make sinful man aware of how utterly hopeless and desperate he really is apart from pity, mercy, love and compassion of the One True and Living God, the infinite Creator and Judge of the universe.  Biblical Christianity is the story of God’s merit and achievement in Jesus Christ, the truth that stands over and against all the false and idolatrous religions of man’s merit and achievement in his own filthy works righteousness which represents every other religion apart from Biblical Christianity.  The one true and pure religion of Biblical Christianity is God-centric and God exalting, whereas all the various streams of the one false and corrupted religion of self-righteousness are man-centric and man exalting.

Rick Warren, False Prophets, and the Remnant

“…But whom say ye that I am…?” (Luke 9:20)

“Pastor Rick” Warren is merely one of a cabal of modern-day false prophets whose message can be boiled down to, “I’m okay, you’re okay” when the clear message of scripture is, “I’m not okay, and neither are you. But guess what? God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whosoever believes in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life!”

While he is but one man, the global reach of his ecumenical church of deceit and of his Devil Driven machination gives “Pastor Rick” an unprecedented opportunity to rend the flock.

“Pastor Rick” is joined in his man-centered false gospel boy’s club by the likes of Joel Osteen who preaches a sticky sweet “Gawd luuuvs you” bubble-gum theology that’s utterly devoid of the offense of the cross and Brian McLaren whose version of the “McGospel” is being endlessly “reimagined” by the post-modern neo-liberal emergent/emerging church movement.

Notoriously missing from the message of these “Evangelicals” – a term I use advisedly – is the evangelium, i.e. the Gospel itself! Think about for a moment and ask yourself when is the last time any of these very prominent – supposedly Christian – pastors publicly called for repentance or spoke of sin, judgment or hell? I’m guessing those subjects would be quite unpalatable to their worldly followers and would serve to vaporize their fawning media coverage and alienate many of their most generous “prayer partners”. Tsk, tsk…

Purpose Driven Purgatory

It’s amazing!

It’s dumbfounding!

It’s breathtaking!

And it’s TRUE!

Purpose Driven Puppet Master Rick Warren is in fact setting himself up as the Protestant Pontiff of The New Catholicism. My short piece entitled Purpose Driven Deceit pointed toward Warren’s take no prisoners attitude toward so-called “resisters” within the professing church. In Rick Warren’s perverse theology disunity is Satan’s greatest weapon against the church. Where does Warren get his information? It certainly doesn’t come from the Holy Bible. As the discernment resource Watcher’s Lamp correctly states: “Satan’s greatest weapon is deception, which causes disunity and division in the Scriptures, and ultimately the destruction of souls.”

Warrenism = Ecumenism = Rome

Unity at all costs.

Unity at the expense of truth.

It would be understandable for the non-discerning to come to Warren’s defense and say, “Hey, Pastor Rick just wants unity for the Body of Christ, that’s a good thing, that’s something God desires and something we ought to be working toward!” Yet the truth is that all regenerate, truly born-again Christians are already in spiritual unity together in Christ; this is the mystery of the true church, the true Bride of Christ!

The Pope and the Papacy and Rick Warren

by: Ken Silva

Men who put their love of men before their love for God like Purpose Driven Pope Rick Warren accept apostate Roman Catholicism as a legitimate form of Christianity. In this important message Dr. John MacArthur brings out the heart of the matter for the genuine Christian:

What was at stake is whether or not we evangelize Roman Catholics, that’s what’s at stake… Are Roman Catholics the mission field, or do we embrace them as fellow believers in Jesus Christ? The mood at evangelicalism today is to embrace them… Reclassifying the Pope, reclassifying the Roman Catholics as believers isn’t that simple…

It has massive implications that overturn centuries, if not millennia of martyrdom. In the long war on the truth, the most formidable, relentless and deceptive enemy has been Roman Catholicism. It is an apostate, corrupt, heretical, false Christianity, it is a front for the kingdom of Satan. The true church of the Lord Jesus Christ has always understood this.

Spirit Led or Purpose Driven?

by Mike Ratliff

Spirit-Led or Purpose-Driven? Part 1

After posting Can A Leopard Change its Spots?, I have received some comments that devolved into emails in which some “apologists” for Rick Warren attempted to defend him. It was actually quite sad because these folks are quite shallow spiritually. One fellow blasted me saying he had hundreds of Biblical proofs that Rick Warren’s theology in the Purpose Driven Life did not butcher the Gospel as I had contended. So, I asked for his proofs. Instead of proofs I get several pages from the Purpose Driven Life book. When I confronted him about it he simply said that Rick Warren does preach repentance, but not like hellfire and brimstone. Then he said that that only scared people away and besides Hell doesn’t last forever, it’s just a temporary thing.

After dealing with this I realized that I had run out of time to do justice to what I wanted to write about tonight, however, I found a series of articles by Berit Kjos which she wrote back in 2003 about the Purpose Driven Church. Follow this link to read Part 1.

Spirit-Led or Purpose-Driven? Part 2

“God says relationships are what life is all about.” Rick Warren, [1, page 125]

“Relationships are the glue that holds a church together. Friendships are the key to retaining members. A friend once told me of a survey he took in a church. When he asked, ‘Why did you join this church?’ – 93% of the members said, ‘I joined because of the pastor.’ He then asked, ‘What if the pastor leaves? Will you leave?’  93% said ‘No.’  When he asked why they wouldn’t leave, the response was ‘Because I have friends here!’ Do you notice the shift in allegiance? This is normal and healthy…. Think relationally!” [2]  Rick Warren, “Relationships hold your church together.”

“I want to stress the importance of continually emphasizing the corporate nature of the Christian life to your members,” wrote Pastor Warren in his church management manual, The Purpose-Driven Church. “Preach it, teach it, and talk about it with individuals. We belong together. We need each together. We are connected, joined together as parts of one body. We are family!”[3, page 328]

Yes, those who truly belong to Christ are one in Him!  We are part of a vast wonderful family that reaches around the world and stretches through time into eternity! In fact, the fellowship we have in Christ—with those who share the same Spirit, follow the same Shepherd and delight in the same Scriptures—brings us a tiny foretaste of the joy we will share with our heavenly family for all eternity.

Small Groups and the Dialectic Process

While we don’t deserve any of God’s gracious blessings, small groups do bring people together. So the issue here is not whether or not they are effective, but rather the nature of their effectiveness. Do they deepen our faith in God or our dependence on each other? Do they teach us to know and follow God’s Word or do they promote subtle forms of compromise for the sake of unity in diversity? Do they encourage Biblical discernment or open-mindedness and tolerance for unbiblical beliefs and values? Finally, are they led by the Holy Spirit or driven by well-trained facilitators and the “felt needs” of the groups?

James Sundquist Open Letter to Rick Warren and Erik Rees

In my view James Sundquist correctly handled Rick Warren’s recent and duplicitous offer of a poison tipped olive branch by responding with an utterly devastating open letter to the Arch-Fiend and Heretic Rick Warren and his false prophet Erik Rees exposing them for what they are: Deceivers in desperate need of repentance!

I pray that you’ll take a moment to read through Sundquist’s letter and review his copious and verifiable documentation which exposes the shameful and deceitful tactics of the Purpose Driven Puppet-master Warren.
